My Experience on Buzzfeed tasty

If you don’t know, BuzzFeed is a social media company that creates content for millions of people. As one of the largest social media companies, BuzzFeed has a large influence on the industry and national level.

I was lucky enough to be invited to BuzzFeed to spread the message of organ donation. As a heart transplant recipient, organ donation is a topic near and dear to my heart. Thanks to Make-A-Wish (which is a great organization btw, check it out), I was connected to BuzzFeed and was fortunate enough to share my story.

So I got in my car (or rather, my mom’s car) and took a road trip to West Hollywood. The filming was amazing. There were so many people that took care to my needs, I was absolutely flabbergasted.

To me, it was nerve wrecking that whatever I said could be heard by thousands of people, but I let that fear subside. Katie and Rie were great and made sure I was comfortable. All in all, I’m still blessed by their support.

The videos were released on September 30 and October 10. They’ve gathered over 100,000 views on YouTube and 1,000,000 views on Facebook.

All in all, really cool experience! Now when I watch BuzzFeed, I’m like “I’ve been there! I know that!” It feels great to be included.
